I have a message for all young Christians in Kenya. Those who are having trouble fitting in without having to compromise. Those who want to live out our Godly life and Christian Faith but falter in fear of the perceptions of non-believers. Those who want to be cool and look normal, likeable but at the same time they are God’s children. Those who want to talk, dress and act in a cool way but at the same time want to please God.
My message is simple live out the faith unashamedly, audaciously, fearlessly and display your faith by your actions and life. I am tired of trying to please everyone and adjusting my lifestyle to accommodate people who do not share in my belief in Jesus Christ.
Look, if someone is a genuine friend or lover they will accept you wholly as you are and everything you are made of. If they are going to cast you out for being a virgin or being conservative then they are not supposed to be in your life. Jesus was loved by the sinners and commoners. They accommodated Him for who He was. He hang out with them all the time. However the Pharisees and His homeboys in Nazareth rejected Him. They didn’t even believe in Him. He never diluted His identity or message so that He could fit in with them.
So why do we have to dim our lights like a car in a highway and be like everybody else yet we are supposed to shine it loud and out so that we can win over the darkness that is heavily encroaching against us. I look at Andrew Kibe, Kamene Goro and Christian Dela the poster children of the Kenyan urban sexual world. They boldly and shamelessly reveal how Kenyan young people view and do sex. Not only them but also many others are coming out to put their sexual exploits on display as trophies of their skewed, ignorant idea of conquest.
That is a clear indication that we should also come out and live out boldly what we believe in. Let us put Jesus on display no matter how annoying and old school we look. The stigma that we face for being Christian is a small price to pay compared to the martyrs that paid with their lives so that they can get this faith to us. And when we become resilient we will pass this to our children and coming generations.
In the wake of the sexual revolution that is sweeping every media outlet by storm and the wamlambez, wamnyonyez type of songs era we can’t afford to sulk and be Sunday Christians. That’s where we are blundering. We go to church on Sunday, dress the part, sing and do the part then we go back home Sunday evening and fold our Christianity neatly and place it in the drawer. We close it only to come back to that shelf the next Sunday.
How are we going to win against a lawless culture that is pushing its agenda 24/7 back to back yet we are only relevant on Sunday or Saturday.
The good news is, God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us Phil 4:13. We also thank God who always causes us to triumph 2Cor 2:14. The weapons of our warfare are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds 2Cor 10. There is no artillery or amount of nukes or diss tracks and videos that can put us down.

They got nothing on us. No weapon formed against us shall prosper.
Let’s make Jesus proud. Let Him walk the earth again and in Kenya through us lively, healthy, attractive, fresh, cool, hot-blooded young people and re-live the impact that he whipped up when he was down here 2000+ years ago.
I ain’t ashamed to be a Christian. I am not afraid to say it and live it. Not ashamed to live holy and pure and scream about it in all this e-platforms we have. I proudly associate with Jesus. It’s not a weakness or a virus. It’s not old fashioned or nerdy. He is cool and He makes us cool!
Brothers and sisters rise up for Him. Get out of your cocoons and crevices of intimidation and let’s shine with Christ.
