THE VIEW OF THE BRANCH

The Branch is a Ksh 30 million new urban joint that began a year ago located at Kenya Cinema along Moi avenue. I had dried beef and chapo and it was really delicious. It scoops a good 7/10. The amazing thing is that I actually got satisfied.

Meat lovers know that the wrong amount of salt can also spoil the whole broth. Not just too  many cooks. At Branch it’s just the right amount and the meat decorated with kachumbari. Cut in large pieces I must add.

Now the Dr. Katambo from London told us to avoid ugali because it has 14-15 teaspoons of sugar so I took one Chapati as a nice compromise between healthy and delicious (wink!). Every major meal at Branch is served with either rice, ugali or chapatti so you choose one.

The blend was interesting and quite a journey. It’s like a journey to Mombasa via Tahmeed while you can enjoy the journey better in SGR and much more in a plane. Whatever the case you are going to reach Mombasa which in this case is satisfaction. I have an amazing appetite so I was very surprised when I ate to my full in a hotel in the CBD.

First if you have grown in the village you know one thing: meat is never eaten to satisfy but just to entertain your taste buds and gain some bragging rights which come in handy during the tea breaks in primary school.

Secondly in Nairobi people came to do business and less charity work because there are bills to be paid monthly so filling your stomach to its fulfillment is not a priority in fact it is not in their daily deliverables. Unless you are willing to pay through the nose.

Therefore with those two very potent points Branch qualifies as a place to visit. Utashiba. Look it up if you are not into ambience and environment. The place looks a bit overcrowded and averagely organized. Football lovers like me will at least get to enjoy the repeat matches of the prestigious UEFA Champions League. Amazing right?

The waiters are good and conversational if you like talking. I personally do and I enjoyed myself. Jibambe!

By the way, Viewpoint coffee house you are doing a good job making customers feel at home. That is top notch. Just upgrade your smoothies from ‘just there’ to top-notch, tantalizing and intoxicating. You gon’ get business like never before.
